Pallets are made from most commonly from wood but some specialty pallets are made from plastic. Plastic pallet are more durable and resistant to disease carrying bacteria. Some pallets need to be certified in order for them to be used for import and export.
A pallet is a small, low, portable platform on which goods are placed for storage or moving, as in a warehouse or vehicle. Plastic pallets and wood pallets are the most common type of pallet. Special kinds of plastic pallets are needed in order to meet some international guidelines for certain types of products (for sanitary purposes). Over half a billion pallets are manufactured each year and about two billion pallets are in use across the United States.
